General Overview

PT. Kertas Leces (Persero) is located in Leces, Probolinggo East Java and is the second oldest paper mill in Indonesia after PT Padalarang in Bandung West Java.

The Mill was built in 1939 and put into commercial operation in 1940 with capacity of 10 tons/day, producing writing and printing paper using rice straw as raw maerial with soda process.

After several expansion, the Mill now consists of 4 (four) Units of integrated pulp and paper mills and 1 (one) Unit of Deinking Plant.

It has 640 tons/day total capacity producing different kinds of papers such as Printing and Writing Paper (Mechanical Woodfree Printing and Writing Paper, Copy Paper, etc), Tissue Paper (Facial Tissue, Toilet Tissue, MG Napkin Tissue), Newsprint Paper and Industrial Paper

For supporting and concerning of conserving the environments PT Kertas Leces used waste Paper and bagasse as raw material and committed by installing a big Effluent Treatment Plant with capacity 4.000 M 3 per hour.

For increasing and developing company’s business, Indonesian Government has authorized to add Indonesian Government share into PT Kertas Leces the capital share 5 based on Indonesian Government Regulation No. 11, dated February 21, 2000.
